  1. Who is eligible to participate?
    Any company, institution, initiative within the parameters of the award categories is eligible to participate, provided that the relevant activity/initiative contributes directly to the environmental preservation of Oman.

  2. How do I apply?
    All applicants must complete Registration Form online and submit before the closing date.

  3. Is the registration form available in languages other than English?
    Currently we are able to process nominations in English alone.

  4. When will I know if my registration has been accepted?
    You will receive an email as soon as you submit the Registration Form, acknowledging the receipt of your registration and giving a Reference Number, for use in future communication.

  5. What is the closing date for submitting a nomination?
    Nominations for the Oman Green Awards close on 5th May 2010. All nominations received before 18.00 hrs on 5th May 2010 will be considered.

  6. When will I know if my nomination has been short-listed?
    All short listed applicants will be notified by email or phone call as soon as the selection process is completed. This is expected to be done by the second week of May 2010.

  7. If my project is short listed, what happens next?
    Applicants will be asked to furnish additional information on their project/initiative before third week of May 2010.

  8. What are the benefits of winning a Green Award?
    There are many benefits of winning a Green Award - for the winner and others. In addition to public recognition and publicity so others can learn from and be inspired by the initiative, winners in each category will;

    Receive an award at the Oman Green Awards ceremony.

    Be profiled on the Oman Awards website.

    An opportunity to be relevantly profiled in the group publications of the United Press and Publishing.

  9. Can I compete in more than one category?
    Yes, you can compete in all categories, so far as each project/initiative adheres to the award/category requirements and does not duplicate any aspect of the other entry.

  10. What are the criteria on which a nomination is judged?
    All nominations are judged according to a pre-determined criteria. For more on the criteria click here.

  11. What is the Evaluation process?
    The Evaluation process involves three levels."

    The OmanGA team reviews all entries received under each category. They recommend and nominate finalists for each category, based on respective criteria recommended by the judges.

    In the event that, more information is required to evaluate a nomination; nominees will be requested to furnish further information.

    Finalist entries are then forwarded to individual judges. Judges nominate winners under each category, in their individual capacity.

    All final nominations and scores will then be reviewed by the entire panel of judges and a winner under each category will be chosen.
